John and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos are splitting

The Stamos home won’t be a full house much longer. After five years of marriage, John Stamos and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos are separating, the New York Daily News reports. ”It’s very amicable,” spokesman Lewis Kay tells the Daily News. ”There’s no third party. There’s no real reason except they’ve decided to go in separate directions.”

Stamos, 40, and Romijn-Stamos, 31, met a decade ago when she was modeling in a Victoria’s Secret fashion show in New York. They went on their first date at Disneyland, a favorite spot of the couple’s, where the model-turned-actress once reportedly said the couple had sex. They married in September 1998, after which her acting career took off (as Mystique in the ”X-Men” movies, and currently in ”The Punisher”), while he went off to Broadway (”Cabaret,” ”Nine”). That could be what Kay meant by ”separate directions,” though last week, Star magazine quoted a source close to the couple as saying that he wanted to start a family and she didn’t. Meanwhile, Stamos is poised to shoot a TV pilot about a guy going on a first date, chronicled hour-by-hour, ”24”-style. Maybe now, it’ll be a reality show.
