Aretha Franklin, who won a Grammy last month for her song ”Wonderful,” is feeling anything but. The Associated Press reports that the Queen of Soul has been hospitalized since Saturday with an undisclosed ailment at an unnamed hospital. Spokeswoman Gwendolyn Quinn said only that the singer, who turns 62 on Thursday, was in stable condition. ”No other information on her illness is available at this time,” Quinn said in a statement.

Franklin, who lives in Detroit, has publicly battled her weight in recent years. ”I’m working on it,” she told Vanity Fair magazine last November. She went on the road last year on a farewell tour, though at this writing, she was booked to perform a club date in New York in April. No word on whether her current ailment might force the postponement or cancellation of that show.
