Veteran TV journalist Bill Moyers, 69, will leave PBS’ Now after November’s presidential election to write a book about former boss Lyndon Johnson.


R&B singer Bobby Brown (right), 35, was jailed Feb. 20 in Decatur, Ga., for probation violation from an earlier DUI arrest. At press time, he was scheduled to remain in the jail’s general population for nonviolent offenders until his Feb. 27 court date.


Eminem’s music publisher, Eight Mile Style, filed a copyright infringement suit against Apple Computer, Inc. Feb. 20 for its alleged use of the rapper’s hit ”Lose Yourself” in an ad for its iTunes music downloading service. The rapper says he would have charged millions for use of the song…. The travel agent who chartered Michael Jackson’s November flight from Las Vegas to Santa Barbara for his arrest filed suit against the singer Feb. 18 seeking $50,000 for alleged nonpayment. Jackson did not return calls…. A New Jersey woman who was among the 1,445 named as illegal downloaders by the Recording Industry Association of America is suing the members of the association under RICO statutes. The woman, the mother of a teenage girl who allegedly downloaded approximately 1,000 music files, filed suit Feb. 5, charging that letters sent out by music industry lawyers claiming up to hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages are intended to coerce people into settling for smaller amounts. The RIAA says, ”We stand by our claims.”… As expected, a New York state judge decided Feb. 19 that neither Rosie O’Donnell, 41, nor her former Rosie publisher Gruner + Jahr USA, would receive monetary damages from their lawsuits against each other. Gruner + Jahr says it is ”considering other options.”… Performance artist John Laraio (a.k.a. Mobius 8) filed suit Feb. 19 against dancer Wade Robson, 21, and MTV for $1 million, claiming he helped create the Wade Robson Project pilot but was cut out of the series.
