Mary-Louise Parker is up for a Golden Globe for her role in ”Angels in America,” but her most stunning performance in recent months may have been maintaining a brave face after ”Big Fish” star Billy Crudup terminated their seven-year relationship, reportedly leaving her for Claire Danes, while Parker was seven months pregnant with their child. Parker delivered a boy on Jan. 7 at New York’s St. Vincent’s Hospital, the New York Daily News reports, and she’s named him William after his father.

Parker, 39, and Crudup, 35, had been living together for seven years, since costarring in a stage revival of William Inge’s ”Bus Stop” in 1996. In November, Crudup’s camp acknowledged that he’d split from Parker but insisted that he and 24-year-old Danes were just good friends. (They’re also costars in the ”Shakespeare in Love”-like period romance ”Stage Beauty,” due in theaters later this year.) A rep for Danes, who had enjoyed a similarly long-term relationship with Aussie rocker Ben Lee, also denied that she and Crudup were an item.

Nonetheless, print gossips reported spotting the pair hiking hand-in-hand in the Hollywood hills over the holidays and looking cozy together at a New York restaurant. In Touch magazine reports that Parker banned Crudup from her hospital room but has allowed him to visit his son at her Manhattan home. Parker’s spokesperson has declined to comment on the situation.
