Having mastered ”How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” Kate Hudson’s next task is How to Raise a Guy in 18 Years. That guy is Ryder Russell Robinson, the son born Wednesday in Los Angeles to Hudson and husband Chris Robinson. The boy, whose middle name is an apparent tribute to Hudson’s de facto stepfather, Kurt Russell, weighed in at 8 pounds, 11 ounces, the Associated Press reports. He’s the first child for the 24-year-old Oscar-nominated actress and the 37-year-old former Black Crowes frontman, her husband of three years. The newborn is also the first grandchild for Hudson’s mom, 58-year-old Goldie Hawn.

No word on how much time Hudson and Robinson will spend on parental leave. Last year, Hudson starred in three movies (”How to Lose a Guy,” ”Alex & Emma,” and ”Le Divorce”), and filmed another, ”Raising Helen,” before she started to show. Robinson, according to a report in the New York Post, is planning to form a new supergroup with ex-members of Stone Temple Pilots and Guns N’ Roses (presumably, those ex-members who aren’t already in that other STP-GNR stepchild, Velvet Revolver).
