Britney Spears announces ''Zone'' tour dates. She'll tour the U.S. for the first time in two years, starting March 2 in San Diego

Britney Spears has been showing up a lot on TV awards shows lately, but fans will finally get a chance to hear her sing more than one song per evening when she launches her first North American tour in two years in March. The singer will play 25 dates in support of her new album ”In the Zone,” starting March 2 in San Diego and ending April 12 in New York.

”It’s always special to be able to go on the road and give something back,” Spears said in a statement released Tuesday, her 22nd birthday. ”I’m especially looking forward to bringing my tour to new markets and performing in front of fans that may not have had the opportunity to see any of my previous tours.”

While venues in each city have yet to be announced, tickets will go on sale Dec. 13, with some proceeds going to benefit the singer’s charitable organization, the Britney Spears Foundation. Here are the tour stops, according to Jive Records:

March 8: Los Angeles
March 9: Oakland, Calif.
