Style savants the Fab Five from ”Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” would probably be the first to tell you that talking about money is tacky. Maybe that’s why the Fabs and Bravo are both officially mum about the details of the fashionable fivesome’s new deal with the cable network. But sources close to the deal tell the Hollywood Reporter that the ”Queer Eye” quintet will more than double their salaries for the new season, which starts Nov. 18.

In absolute terms, that means each of the show’s makeover mavens will see his per-episode fee jump from $3,000 to $8,000, sources tell the Reporter. That’s still a bargain compared to what parent company NBC pays some of its stars, like the Fab Six of ”Friends,” who each earn $1 million per episode. Not that ”Queer Eye” draws the same kind of ratings or advertising dollars, though NBC will continue to air crossover episodes on the network in primetime, including a Nov. 25 shot at the climax of the ratings sweeps month.

Also on tap is a ”Queer Eye” Christmas special, airing Dec. 16 on Bravo, in which the Fab Five will offer hall-decking tips and pay surprise visits to past makeover beneficiaries to see whether they’re still sticking with the program or having fashion-victim relapses.
