MOVIES ”The Cat in the Hat” is coming back — in, appropriately enough, ”The Cat in the Hat Comes Back!” Brian Grazer, producer of this November’s ”Cat in the Hat” with Mike Myers, tells us he owns the rights to Dr. Seuss’ ”Cat” sequel, and writers are scripting it as we speak: ”Mike Myers is enthusiastic, and Alec Baldwin’s on board.” He says the first film is about home and the second will be about school. ”In [the sequel], I want the lessons to be more socially oriented.” In that vein, take it from the Deal Report, kids: Don’t do drugs!… Cat lovers, more happy news: Benjamin Bratt (”The Next Best Thing”) has just been cast opposite Halle Berry in ”Catwoman”…. Payback time, Diane Lane! First you were ”Unfaithful”; now you’re attached to play the wronged woman in ”Need”, a therapist whose husband has an affair with her patient…. With the Anti-Defamation League up in his grill about ”The Passion” and the war in Iraq stalling his ”Mad Max” sequel, Mel Gibson is eyeing yet another film about a renegade drifter, ”Under and Alone”, the true story of undercover ATF agent Billy Queen…. Has the King found his wriggling queen? Director Peter Jackson has offered the Fay Wray part in his Christmas ’05 ”King Kong” remake to ”Le Divorce”’s Naomi Watts.

TELEVISION The guy who cuts the hair of more than one EW staffer is getting his own show! (We had nothing to do with it.) Rodney Cutler, who runs Manhattan’s Cutler Salon, is working with Fox TV Studios to put together a reality show about an NYC hair salon. Looking good, Rodney! We knew ye when.
