Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards are starting a little platoon of their own. The couple announced Monday that they’re expecting their first child in the spring. The baby, whose sex was not announced, will be the first child for 32-year-old Richards and the second for Sheen, 38, who has an 18-year-old daughter, Cassandra, from his relationship with high school sweetheart Paula Profitt.

The reformed playboy met the onetime Bond girl when they filmed the indie romantic comedy ”Good Advice” in 2000. They became an item after she guest-starred on his sitcom ”Spin City” in 2001. They married in June 2002. Both appear in ”Scary Movie 3,” which opens Oct. 24. Meanwhile, Sheen gets to rehearse for impending fatherhood as the star of ”Two and a Half Men,” in which he plays a bachelor whose brother (Jon Cryer) and little nephew move in with him. The CBS sitcom debuts Sept. 22.
