1. In 1981, upstart MTV bans the risque clip for ”Girls on Film” — and their self-titled debut sells over 2.5 million copies.

2. 1982: Princess Di’s favorite band.

3. Appear in EW’s Pop Culture Quiz issue (page 37, answer to where their name came from: ”A character in the sci-fi film Barbarella”) in April 2003.

4. Now, after 12 albums and sales of over 70 million, the original lineup resurfaces with scads of sold-out shows, a VMA appearance — and their first CD in 19 years, due in ’04.
