Enrique Iglesias removes trademark mole
Incredibly, Enrique Iglesias says his friends don’t even notice that his mole is gone. The Latin crooner recently had his facial trademark removed, less out of vanity than for health reasons, he told TV’s ”Access Hollywood” on Wednesday. ”I went to the doctor one day and he said I could have it removed in five minutes,” Iglesias said. ”I thought about it and asked, ‘What are the consequences if I do it or if I don’t?’ I didn’t really care. But then the doctor told me that with time the mole could cause cancer, so I thought, ‘Oh, go ahead. Take it.”’
Although it didn’t take long to remove the mole, Iglesias did not endure the procedure like a hero. ”When the doctor was taking it off, I was like, ‘Oh, my God,’ because all I saw was blood,” he said. ”I was freaking out because I thought the guy was going to poke out my eye.” If you want a last glimpse of the mole, you can see Iglesias on screen opposite Antonio Banderas and Johnny Depp in Robert Rodriguez’s guns-and-guitars epic ”Once Upon a Time in Mexico,” opening Sept. 12.
