This could be Jack Osbourne’s most controversial act since pretending to kill one of the family’s dogs on the ”Osbournes” season finale. The teenage reality star/record label scout will risk his edgy reputation by acting in a movie with the Olsen Twins. According to the Hollywood Reporter, he’s landed a role in Mary-Kate and Ashley’s currently shooting Warner Bros. comedy, ”New York Minute.”

The role marks Osbourne’s feature acting debut (if you don’t count the Osbournes’ cameo as themselves in last year’s ”Austin Powers in Goldmember”), but it shouldn’t be too much of a stretch. He’ll play the manager of a band fronted by what the studio calls a ”punk-rock rebel,” 17-year-old Roxy (Mary-Kate Olsen). Her twin sister Jane (Ashley Olsen) will play a buttoned-down high school overachiever. The two become embroiled in various ”Ferris Bueller”-style comic mixups in the film, which Dennie Gordon (who helmed this year’s Amanda Bynes vehicle, ”What a Girl Wants”) is directing. ”Jack’s outrageous,” Mary-Kate told the Reporter. ”Perfect for the role.” That’s the kind of endorsement that could kill a career.
