If cable’s TLC, home of ”Trading Spaces,” can help folks redecorate their homes, maybe it can also help them pop the question to their sweeties. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Banyan Productions, creators of ”Trading Spaces,” are behind a new TLC series called ”Perfect Proposal” that will debut Sept. 15 during the daytime block of like-minded shows such as ”A Wedding Story” and ”A Baby Story.”

”Proposal” is one of three new weekday shows for TLC this fall, including ”Second Chance,” in which people try to reconnect with old flames, and ”Clean Sweep,” which will show couples organizing their messy closets. Each day on ”Proposal,” the show’s experts will help a would-be bridegroom (or, sometimes, a would-be bride) create an occasion where he can surprise his intended with a marriage proposal, while the show’s cameras capture that intimate and joyful (or humiliating) moment for voyeurs at home — er, for posterity.
