In 1967’s ”Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,” Spencer Tracy had misgivings when he learned that his daughter’s fiancé was black. Thirty-six years later, it’s hard to believe any dad would object to a future son-in-law as faultless as Sidney Poitier, but what if the races were reversed? What if Bernie Mac, TV’s fiercest father figure, was the grumbling dad? And what if his daughter’s choice for a groom was professional doofus Ashton Kutcher?

No, it’s not a prank from Kutcher’s MTV show ”Punk’d.” It’s the premise of ”The Dinner Party,” an upcoming Columbia Pictures comedy. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Kutcher and Mac are attached to star, and Kutcher will also serve as producer. Both have a ”Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” connection: Mac stars in the movie, opening this Friday, as the new Bosley, while offscreen, Kutcher dates ”Full Throttle” bad girl Demi Moore. Maybe Kutcher should do a movie about a dad who’s shocked that his 40-year-old daughter is dating a 25-year-old.
