The title of Linkin Park’s current single, ”Faint,” seems to describe what singer Chester Bennington did last Friday. According to a statement released by the band’s label, Bennington has been recuperating at an undisclosed Los Angeles hospital since May 30, when he suffered ”an attack of severe back and abdominal pains.” Warner Bros. Records said that his doctors ”are still trying to determine the cause of these ailments,” but in the meantime, the band has postponed a 12-date tour of Europe that was supposed to start this Saturday in Germany.

The band was also supposed to shoot a video this month, but the statement said ”All touring and video shoot plans have been put on hold this month as we make sure Chester fully recovers. We wish him the best and will keep everyone posted as to his condition.” Linkin Park still expects, however, to play a scheduled date in Las Vegas on June 27 before heading out on the Summer Sanitarium tour with Metallica, Mudvayne, and the Deftones. The 19-city tour starts July 4 in Pontiac, Michigan.
