Many Dell computers come with CD-RW drives, but Dell pitchman Ben Curtis may be burning more than discs, according to New York City police. The 22-year-old actor, who played Dell-loving collegiate slacker Steven in a series of popular commercials, was arrested Sunday night on Manhattan’s Lower East Side when police allegedly spotted him buying a small bag of pot, according to The Smoking Gun, which parodied his famous slogan by noting, ”Dude, you’re getting a cell!”

Curtis, who is a drama student at New York University, helped drive Dell’s sales with the ”Dude” campaign in 2001 and 2002, though lately, Steven has been phased out and replaced by a set of eager but inexperienced interns. (Sorry, dude, but that’s typical of corporate America.) While Curtis could face a possible three-month sentence on a misdemeanor possession charge, Curtis’ agent, Bonnie Shumofsky, told that he had been released on Monday. ”The case has been adjourned,” she said. ”We’re confident that all charges are going to be dismissed.”
