Pacino sues girlfriend D'Angelo over their twins
In some movie or other, Al Pacino once said, ”Don’t ever take sides with anyone against the family,” but the sides are pretty confusing in Pacino’s own current family drama. According to court papers released yesterday, Pacino filed suit last month against actress Beverly D’Angelo, his girlfriend of five years and mother of their 2-year-old twins, in an effort to gain custody or visitation rights.
According to the New York Daily News, Pacino filed suit in Manhattan Family Court on Jan. 23, two days before Anton James and Olivia Rose Pacino turned 2. A court date scheduled for Wednesday was postponed until Feb. 24.
Pacino and D’Angelo, who’s best known for starring opposite Chevy Chase in the ”National Lampoon’s Vacation” movies, had been living with the children in a house north of New York City until it burned down last March. It’s not clear now who’s living where, or exactly what rights Pacino is seeking. Pacino, whose ”The Recruit” topped the box office chart last weekend, attended the Sundance Film Festival last month, where he told reporters, ”I’m actively involved with my kids. Yeah, I live with them and see them all the time.” Neither Pacino nor D’Angelo nor their respective lawyers have commented on the suit.
