Gunmen shoot up rap management office. No injuries are reported at Violator Management, whose clients include Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes, and 50 Cent
Violator Management, the hip-hop management firm that represents such artists as Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes, 50 Cent, and Mobb Deep, had its own office violated. MTV reports that an unknown number of assailants fired shots at Violator’s New York office Thursday night. No injuries were reported.
Sources told MTV that, around 7 p.m., the shooters entered the building, in the city’s Chelsea neighborhood, and went to the 11th floor, where they shot up the metal and glass doors of the Violator office, then fled. Fortunately, no one was in the reception area at the time, though Violator CEO Chris Lighty and other employees were in their own offices. Police would not comment on the investigation, and Violator declined to comment on the shooting.
In an unrelated hip-hop incident, rapper Fabolous was arrested Wednesday in New York after a traffic stop. According to the Associated Press, police say the 25-year-old ”Ghetto Fabolous” rapper (real name: John Jackson) made an illegal turn in his Range Rover. They found his license had been suspended and charged him with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police told AP. There was no comment from Elektra, Fabolous’ record label.
