”Survivor: Thailand” contestant Brian Heidik may be playing a skillful game on the CBS program, where, as of Thursday’s episode, he remains one of the final four players. But he’s facing a tougher challenge at home than any he’s faced on the show (including figuring out how to spell ”road trip,” which his failure to do correctly cost him a new Chevy Trailblazer in Thursday’s reward challenge). His wife Charmaine, who visited the island on last week’s episode, was arrested last month and charged with spousal abuse. She was accused of punching him in the face on Nov. 17, and Heidik has since been granted a protection order against her, requiring her to stay 100 yards away.

According to The Smoking Gun, which posted the misdemeanor complaint and restraining order against Charmaine Heidik, the 30-year-old punched her husband in the nose at their home in Quartz Hill, a Los Angeles suburb. She was jailed for two days, then released on her own recognizance and arraigned. After pleading not guilty, she has since returned home only once, to collect her belongings. Her next court date is Dec. 16, three days before her husband learns his fate in the ”Survivor” finale. Her fate may include up to a year in jail if she’s convicted.

It’s not the first time that Brian Heidik’s non-”Survivor” life has made headlines. When the 34-year-old used car salesman was named as a ”Survivor” contestant this summer, sharp-eyed observers recognized him as a former softcore porn star, of late-night Cinemax and Playboy Channel fare like ”Sinful Obsession” and ”Virgins of Sherwood Forest.” Charmaine is also a former softcore performer, who has appeared in movies with and without her husband.
