Nice Piece
On a recent Sopranos, James Gandolfini’s Family man gave cousin-in-law Brian a Patek Philippe watch — just to say thanks. (Fuhgeddabout that Price is Right gig, Brian — the piece costs $33,000, not ”15 thousand.”) But the hit show isn’t the only place Patek Philippes can be spotted. Reese Witherspoon sports one in Sweet Home Alabama, Hugh Grant wears a white-gold-and-sapphire number in December’s Two Weeks Notice, and Catherine Zeta-Jones wears two models in next year’s Intolerable Cruelty. Why the Tinseltown uptick? ”Its elegant design has been appreciated by Hollywood royalty for generations,” says Patek Philippe VP Tania Edwards, who adds that the Sopranos script called for the brand. ”[It] has always attracted the most discerning people.”
