For Swiss Army, hiking gear and watches are a given…but perfume? On the heels of two men’s fragrances, Swiss Army and Swiss Army Altitude (launched in 1997 and 2001, respectively), the 109-year-old company is drawing on the sweet smell of the Alps with a new women’s scent. With ingredients like edelweiss and blue buttercup, Swiss Army for Her comes in a glass-and-metal bottle that recalls the look and feel of a certain pocketknife. But why is the brand dabbling in beauty products? ”We’ve got a broad group of female fans that enjoy a sporting lifestyle,” says Swiss Army Fragrance’s Tom Ellis. ”It’s definitely a daytime fragrance. It’s not trying to be too sexy.” But don’t blame us if your guy suddenly wants to go camping.
