The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse

Attention students: We know you kids love Jay-Z, even though he’s not exactly the greatest role model — he dealt drugs, he stabbed a man, and he uses language that would make your English teachers faint. Still, he’s coming to school to be your principal for a day.

In fact, the rapper is calling his current promotional jaunt the Principal for a Day tour. According to MTV, he’s hitting 10 cities, starting Wednesday in Philadelphia and ending Nov. 26 in San Francisco, where local radio contests will determine which schools he visits. In each town, he’ll also play small venues (the school auditoriums, perhaps?) for audiences of 300 listeners, who can buy tickets from local retailers who will be named on the radio.

Besides promoting stay-in-school platitudes, Jay-Z is promoting Tuesday’s release of his new double-length CD, ”The Blueprint 2: The Gift and the Curse.” No word if he’ll be accompanied by any of that record’s many guest stars, including Lenny Kravitz, M.O.P., Beanie Sigel, Scarface, Memphis Bleek, Faith Evans, OutKast, or is-she-or-isn’t-she-Jay’s-girlfriend Beyoncé Knowles. The tour dates are:

Nov. 13 — Philadelphia
Nov. 14 — Baltimore
Nov. 15 — Washington, D.C.
Nov. 18 — Atlanta
Nov. 19 — Chicago
Nov. 20 — Cleveland
Nov. 21 — Detroit
Nov. 22 — Houston
Nov. 25 — Los Angeles
Nov. 26 — San Francisco
