Ten fans are injured at Bow Wow concert
Teen rapper Bow Wow may have tried to emulate Michael Jordan as the star of the movie ”Like Mike,” but he inadvertently proved a terror on the basketball court over the weekend. During his Saturday concert at Minneapolis’ Target Center, home of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves, when he left the stage to perform among the crowd, a sudden crush of fans caused a railing to give way, which resulted in minor injuries for about 10 fans, the Associated Press reports.
Fans pressed against the 12-foot-wide railing when Bow Wow worked his way into the crowd around 10 p.m., near the end of the concert. The railing snapped in three places, and fans fell about 5 feet to arena floor below. Some 10 people were taken away by ambulance and treated for such complaints as lower leg pain and back pain, Reid Katzung, the arena’s director of operations told AP.
Bow Wow was not hurt and returned to the stage to finish the show. Katzung said the railing would be repaired, and other railings inspected, before the Timberwolves’ season opener on Wednesday.
