Kip Pardue knows about keeping it real. Turns out his European vacation in The Rules of Attraction (recounted in a five-minute montage) was mostly improvised. Director Roger Avary followed the actor through the continent’s capitals as Pardue passed himself off as naughty college boy Victor. ”He said, ‘I’m going to film you while you eat, sleep, s—, meet women, walk down the street, shower, and f—,”’ recalls Pardue of Avary. The outtakes were so compelling that the director plans to make them into a whole other flick called Glitterati. (Avary is also adapting Glamorama, Bret Easton Ellis’ Rules sequel.) Meanwhile, Pardue’s just happy the Rules sequence hasn’t caused him any grief: ”Luckily I’m single…or I definitely would have broken up over this movie.”
