BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF
If you’re ever in the mood to watch a flick, but aren’t sure what kind you’re in the mood for, here’s the movie for you. Palace intrigue, period romance, pulpy horror, wily espionage, bordello tricks, and fists-of-fury kung fu all meet in Brotherhood of the Wolf, a beautifully shot, overlong French melange that aims to be all things to all people. Problem is, it’s such a scatterbrained endeavor that we stop caring whether the Gallic naturalist (Le Bihan) and his bad-ass Mohawk companion (Dacascos) ever manage to slay the countryside-scouring beast. We just want to know which of the three endings is the real one.
