BIRTHS Actor Jude Law (Road to Perdition), 29, and actress/fashion-designer wife Sadie Frost (Uprising), 34, traveled the road to parenthood together a third time, greeting 5-pound 5-ounce son Rudy on Sept. 10. Daughter Iris is almost 2 and son Rafferty is 5; Frost’s son Finlay, with ex-Spandau Ballet guitarist Gary Kemp, is 11.

EXPECTING Providence’s Melina Kanakaredes, 35, and hubby, restaurateur Paul Constantinides, 36, are expecting their second child early next year. Their daughter, Zoe, is 2…. A source close to Toni Braxton, 33, confirms that the R&B hottie and her keyboard-player husband, Keri Lewis, 30, are expecting baby No. 2 in the spring. Son Denim Cole was born in December. Braxton’s reps declined to comment.

WEDDINGS Pop siren Gwen Stefani, 32, was just a bride Sept. 14 in London, tying the knot with Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, 34. It’s the first marriage for both.

ENGAGEMENTS A match made in Jersey: Sopranos daughter Jamie-Lynn Sigler, 21, will wed her manager, A.J. Discala, 31, next summer. It will be the first marriage for both…. Oasis singer Liam Gallagher, 30, and former All Saints singer Nicole Appleton, 27, are engaged. The couple have a 1-year-old son, Gene. Gallagher was formerly married to actress Patsy Kensit, with whom he shares a son, Lennon, 3. It will be Appleton’s first marriage.

AILING Rocker Warren Zevon (1978’s ”Werewolves of London”), 55, confirmed Sept. 12 that he has been diagnosed with an advanced, untreatable form of lung cancer. While Zevon said in a statement he is ”okay” with his condition, he joked that ”it would be a drag if I don’t make it till the next James Bond movie comes out.”… Roxette lead singer Marie Fredriksson, 44, reportedly has been diagnosed with a brain tumor; doctors haven’t decided on her treatment. The Swedish duo’s ”It Must Have Been Love” topped the charts in 1990…. Austin Powers in Goldmember’s Verne Troyer, 33, had an appendectomy Aug. 29. His spokeswoman says he has fully recovered…. A rep for Elizabeth Taylor, 70, announced Sept. 13 that the Oscar winner underwent radiation therapy in June to treat basal cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer. Her reps declined to disclose any further details. In a statement, Taylor’s doctor described her prognosis as ”fine” with ”no evidence of any residual disease.”… The Price Is Right announcer Rod Roddy, 64, who’s been battling colon cancer for more than a year, was at press time scheduled to have a cancerous node removed from his small intestine Sept. 20. He expects to recover fully and says he can’t wait to return to work.

ARRESTS Nick Nolte, 61, whose new film The Good Thief screened this month at the Toronto film festival, was arrested in Malibu Sept. 11 for allegedly driving under the influence. Police say the actor failed a field sobriety test after he was pulled over for swerving in and out of traffic on the Pacific Coast Highway. His spokesman had no comment.

COURTS Call it a nom de Tomb Raider. On Sept. 12, the Oscar winner widely known as Angelina Jolie, 27, legally dropped her actual surname, Voight. Her dad is actor Jon Voight; Jolie was her middle name. While father and daughter have been publicly critical of each other in recent months, a spokesman for the actress declined to explain the change. Voight’s manager also had no comment.
