Nowadays, a measure of celebrity can be summed up in five words: Do you have a bobblehead? The wobbly-topped miniatures, a novelty-store staple since the ’60s, have had a resurgence. The Seattle Mariners saw a 30 percent jump in ticket sales to kids when the team had an Ichiro Suzuki bobblehead giveaway in July. And at any given time, more than 6,000 bobbles — including folks like Tiger Woods and ‘N Sync — are bouncing around eBay. The real news: You too can be a bobblehead. If you send them photos (and $150), the Iowa-based company It’s You Small (itsyousmall.com) will make a personalized springy topper. ”Right now these are the Cabbage Patch dolls of the early 21st century,” says company founder Bryan Guise, who numbers a David Letterman bobble among his creations. ”For the common person it just seems cool.” Just think of it as your own Mini-Me.
