Maybe it was karmic payback for the combustible temper Eminem displayed during his attacks on Moby and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog at the MTV Video Music Awards a few days ago. On Sunday, on the rapper’s final date on the Anger Management tour, one of his tour buses caught fire on the highway outside his hometown of Detroit. No one was injured in the blaze, but the bus was destroyed, causing $1 million in damages to the vehicle and Eminem’s equipment.

According to the Detroit Free Press, only a driver and another passenger (who was not Eminem) were aboard the bus when it caught fire Sunday afternoon on Interstate 94 in Pittsfield Township, Mich. Firefighters blamed the conflagration on friction from a flat inner tire and a diesel fuel leak that spilled 160 gallons of fuel, according to area TV station WDIV. Eminem was traveling on another bus and arrived on time for the concert, at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Since it was his last scheduled stage date, he won’t need to get back on a tour bus for some time. No doubt he’s relieved.
