Third slice of ''American Pie'' is on front burner. Jason Biggs and pals will return for more sticky situations in ''Pie 3''

Jason Biggs, the recent victim of sexual humiliation every night on Broadway in the Dustin Hoffman role in ”The Graduate,” will soon get to go back to suffering sexual humiliation on screen. According to published reports, Universal is reassembling the stars of the ”American Pie” movies for a third helping. Biggs, band camp alumna Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott (as Stifler), and Eugene Levy (as Biggs’ dad) have signed on, with Jesse Dylan (the collegiate comedy ”How High”) in negotiations to direct.

Having taken its libidinous characters through the end of high school and the transition into college, the series is now expected to see them through the transition into post-college life. (Adam Herz, who wrote the first two movies, is also writing the third, according to the Hollywood Reporter.) It’s not clear whether the rest of the ensemble — Shannon Elizabeth, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Chris Klein, Natasha Lyonne, Eddie Kaye Thomas, and Thomas Ian Nicholas — will be returning; a source close to the script tells the Reporter that Herz has written many of their characters out of the screenplay.

”American Pie 3” is slated to shoot in January for an August 2003 release. No word on how Biggs will be made to top previous ”Pie” embarrassments like humping a pastry and gluing his hand to his penis.
