''Malcolm'' will get a fourth sibling
Jane Kaczmarek is expecting a child in November, but there will be no hiding the ”Malcolm in the Middle” mom’s middle with props and cropped shots, à la Sarah Jessica Parker on ”Sex and the City.” Kaczmarek’s been there, done that; when she was pregnant a couple years ago, producers hid her expanding belly behind refrigerator doors, chairs, and huge frying pans. ”I’ve been told they’re going to work the pregnancy into the show,” she tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal. ”The plan is to do some episodes not pregnant, and then some pregnant.”
The 46-year-old Kaczmarek and her husband, fellow Wisconsin native and ”West Wing” star Bradley Whitford, have a 4-year-old daughter, Frances, and a 2-year-old son, George. The family may have another new addition or two come September; they were both nominated for Emmys last week.
Kaczmarek says she knows the sex of the couple’s third child but says only, ”I’m telling friends, but I’m not telling the media.” As for the sex of her character Lois’ upcoming bundle of joy, let’s hope its a girl. Lois is already mother to four mischievous boys — five if you count husband Hal.
