A handful of tunes on this one-named wonder’s debut Dirty Child are as cool as anything you’ll hear this summer. ”Love” and ”Like a Dream” offer soulful seduction, amped by thumping bass and subtle sonic coloring; ”Afterlife” is white-girl funk as hypnotic, don’t-do-me-wrong groove. True, some of Rosey’s songs take a familiar alt-pop route, but that’s a tiny misstep on an otherwise ambitious effort.
