Sharon Osbourne recovers from colon cancer surgery. The TV mom is doing well enough after last week's surgery to send Ozzy back out on the road to launch Ozzfest

Sharon Osbourne is at home, recovering from last week’s surgery to treat her cancer, spokeswoman Lisa Vega said in a statement Tuesday, and is ”in good spirits and doing well.” Vega revealed that it was colon cancer for which the metal matriarch was treated, but that doctors caught the disease in the ”very early stages” and expect the 49-year-old to make a full recovery.

It was not clear where the surgery took place, or when Osbourne went home. Last week, Vega said that Ozzy Osbourne and the couple’s three children were at her side during her hospitalization. In fact, Ozzy postponed the first two dates of Ozzfest last week to be at Sharon’s side. (The couple marked their 20th anniversary on July 4.) Instead, his metal tour will begin today in Scranton, Penn. It’s also not clear how, if at all, her surgery will affect the second season of the family’s hit reality show, MTV’s ”The Osbournes,” or if we’ll see any of her hospitalization on the series. Of course, MTV is the network that did a special on Tom Green’s testicular cancer surgery, so it’s possible that we could see as much of Sharon Osbourne’s colon as we have of the family’s incontinent dogs.
