Bobby Brown is hospitalized. The R&B singer receives treatment for an unspecified infection

Trouble-plagued R&B singer Bobby Brown is receiving treatment in a Virginia hospital for an infection, the Associated Press reported. Brown and wife Whitney Houston were traveling from Atlanta in their tour bus (though they weren’t on tour) when Brown fell ill, publicist Nancy Seltzer told AP. Brown is receiving intravenous antibiotics to treat the infection, which Seltzer declined to identify, according to the wire service.

Brown was briefly hospitalized last August for a seizure that his publicist attributed to heat exhaustion and dehydration suffered after a marathon recording session. The singer — who was jailed in 2000 for violating probation on a drunken-driving charge by refusing to take a drug test — hasn’t released an album of new material since 1997’s ”Forever.”
