Mission Kashmir

D

Seeking to fill the void left by the child he lost in a tragic accident, a Kashmir cop (Dutt) adopts the son of an innocent couple he unintentionally killed in a raid on Muslim separatists. But that’s just the first 30 minutes of Mission Kashmir, a ludicrously overstuffed Bollywood import that doesn’t really get going until the boy learns the truth about his foster father and turns to a life of terrorism. Meanwhile, the movie careens between mawkish romance, ”Matrix”-style action, and corny musical numbers. It’d be laughable if the film didn’t so flagrantly trivialize Kashmir’s real-life strife.
