Brandy, you’re a fine girl. What a good reality miniseries subject you would be. After months of talk, MTV confirmed yesterday that it’s been following around the singer and first-time expectant mother with TV cameras, doing for her family what the channel has done for (or to) the Osbournes. ”Diary Presents: Brandy — Special Delivery” will premiere June 18 and run four or five episodes, depending on how soon the R&B star gives birth.

MTV insists that the show ”really had nothing to do with ‘The Osbournes,”’ network senior vice president of music development Lois Curren tells Variety. Rather she says, it’s just that ”Brandy is such a huge core artist to us.” (Especially huge now.) ”This is of great interest to our viewers, to have this event.” It’s also not like ”The Osbournes” in that the cameras are not running 24/7. Brandy can turn them on and off as she pleases and is encouraged to address them directly to talk about ”how she’s feeling,” Curren says.

The 23-year-old singer/actress and her husband, producer Robert Smith, were married last July but kept the marriage and pregnancy a secret until February. The baby is due in July.

Meanwhile, look for MTV to follow Brandy’s series with another reality delivery; the network confirmed to Variety that it’s in talks with Sean ”P. Diddy” Combs about a reality show.
