Mark Hamill will always be Luke Skywalker, but here’s some real typecasting. Recalling the days when an Apple II was as advanced as a new TIE fighter, Episode IV plays out, virtually shot-by-shot, using ASCII animation. Translation: The movie is re-created with the likes of Luke and R2-D2 composed entirely of keyboard characters (”~~” represents hair, ”OO” work as eyes, etc.). Hey, this Luke gives Hamill a run for his money. It’s a low-tech labor of love that we find…impressive, most impressive.
