In a twist that could have come straight from a ”Sex and the City” episode, Sarah Jessica Parker announced Friday that she’s pregnant, leading HBO to halt production of her show’s fourth season. Only about 50 percent of the first two episodes (shot simultaneously) were completed before filming was suspended, an HBO spokesperson tells

Producers hope to resume production within a month, but have not yet decided how Parker’s pregnancy will affect storylines, if at all, the spokesperson says. The new season had been scheduled for a June premiere; now it’s tentatively set for July. Parker’s publicist didn’t return calls for comment on the pregnancy, which was revealed Friday by gossip columnist Liz Smith and then confirmed by HBO. Parker’s baby will be her and husband Matthew Broderick’s first after five years of marriage.
