Those disheartened by dance music’s current absence of mojo should be heartened by these two protein-blast thumpers. France’s Rinocerose build on the promise of their first disc with another set of house-meets-rock boogie nights: more guitars, more vocals, more witty titles (”No, We Are Not Experienced!”). Hopscotching from whirring rave pieces to routine dance rock (the single ”To Get Down”), German DJ Maas’ disc is patchier but worth hearing for a sci-fi techno collaboration with Kelis and ”Shifter,” the sound of Eurotrash getting down.
