On their sixth full-length album, post-hardcore’s most enduring and important band offers few disappointments and fewer surprises. Somewhat less focused and intense than much of their earlier work, their latest falters when it reaches for subtle musical textures (”The Kill,” ”Strangelight”). But more often the D.C. quartet stick to their usual tight, loud, and urgent sound, and several tracks sung by co-frontman Guy Picciotto (”Full Disclosure,” ”Oh,” ”Nightshop”) are particularly raw and affecting.
