‘GOLF’ RULES

Jumping Jack Welch drops from No. 1 this week, bested by the un-likely combination of golf and germs. Tiger Woods’ How I Play Golf (1.5 million copies in print) hits a hole in one, debuting at the top of the nonfiction list. Judith Miller’s Germs, spread by a publicity campaign that’s hit everything from the Today show to Late Show With David Letterman, continues to tap into national fears. Germs continues its march up the chart, landing at No. 2. And Patricia Cornwell corrects recent anomalies in fiction. Her new book Isle of Dogs shoves Jonathan Franzen’s literary novel out of No. 1.
