First, J.J. Abrams created Felicity, which inspired Keri Russell curl-envy in female viewers. This season, the guy with an ear for dialogue and an eye for coifs has debuted another female-centric show, spy-chic hit Alias. ”I so loved Run Lola Run,” says Abrams, referring to the 1998 indie hit with the cherry-haired heroine. So much, in fact, that in the Alias premiere, star Jennifer Garner sports Lola-esque red-hot tresses. While Garner wore a wig, getting the look at home is pretty nice and easy. Danna Bradley, personal colorist for Patricia Field, the ruby-haired Manhattanite who outfits the Uber-chic Sex and the City cast, recommends La Riche Directions, a hard-to-find European line of hair dyes. A bottle of Poppy Red or Fire costs about $9 and will earn raves from onlookers. And it’s bound to garner more felicitous results than a home perm.
