Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky return to the murky scene of their award-winning HBO doc Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills with this equally engaging, if more frustrating, update. Five years after the questionable conviction of three teens for the mutilation of three boys in West Memphis, Ark., the filmmakers focus on the quest to overturn the verdict, the discovery of alleged bite marks on one victim (which don’t implicate any of the imprisoned young men), and the suspicion that still surrounds the stepfather of one of the murdered boys. Since the case is still in litigation, the only thing missing is a sense of resolution.
