Sick of turning on your TV and seeing Weak Link Anne Robinson or those jokers from ”Whose Line Is It Anyway?” for the umpteenth time. Well, one of the many benefits of the impending new fall TV season is a slew of rookie personalities — interesting young actors whom you may have seen in small roles before but are now getting to strut their stuff as leads, or utterly new-to-you personalities. Here are some young performers to keep your eyes peeled for.

Jennifer Garner, ”Alias” She’s a college student by day, CIA agent by night! Sounds corny, but it’s not. Jennifer Garner projects braininess, sloe-eyed allure, and a kickboxing move that’ll have jaws dropping all over this new spy hour.

Sarah Chalke, ”Scrubs” She was the replacement Becky on a season of ”Roseanne,” but Chalke really comes into her own on ”Scrubs” as the med student any guy would get heartsick over.
