”Norma Rae” meets ”Showgirls” in this empowering film-festival-award-winning doc that chronicles the ”good fight” led by codirector Julia Query, a lesbian stand-up comic/stripper, to unionize the dancers at San Francisco’s Lusty Lady peep show. Even though it’s a bit rough around the edges, Query fleshes out this triumphant true story with her own dramatic ”plot device”: She is forced to reveal her occupation to her clueless feminist mother, an as-seen-on-”20/20” social worker, after both are scheduled to speak at the same conference on prostitution.
