He’s the star quarterback and she’s a cheerleader, but thankfully the nauseating teen-flick cliches stop there. Meet Jack (Marsden) and Diane (Shelton), two American kids doing the best they can — that is, until she gets knocked up and, in order to support the twins, robs a bank with her squadmates. With enough bite and pop-culture winks to make your pom-poms shake, Sugar & Spice isn’t quite everything nice, but it’s what this genre should be made of.
