Once Upon a Time in China II
- Action Adventure
Tsui Hark may hold the inglorious distinction of having directed not one, but two crappy Jean-Claude Van Damme films (Double Team and Knock Off), but there’s no disputing the greatness of his first two Once Upon… films. This second installment follows 19th-century folk hero Wong Fei-Hung (Li) as he battles against the mysterious White Lotus sect. While Hark limits the number of fight scenes, opting for quality over quantity, he still lets Li and Yen match sticks and kicks in two breathtaking sequences — the type that Jean-Claude can only dream about.
