Celebrity moms from Eminem to Stallone
Mother’s Day (May 13) reminds us that showbiz stars have moms too, moms who are sometimes famous in their own right and sometimes for having spawned, well, celebs. All of which we can learn about by calling up their moms’ sites.
— Sylvester Stallone calls his mom a ”marvelous, extraordinary, irrepressible, unpredictable mother” on Jacqueline Stallone’s Starpower (stallonesstarpower.com), her wacky astrology site.
— On Set the Record Straight (marshallsmom.com), Eminem’s mom, Debbie Mathers, tells her side on ”Dear Marshall,” her spoken-word cut on rap-pop duo ID-X’s three-song CD.
— Melanie Griffith’s mom, actress Tippi Hedren, is devoted to lions and tigers. On the Roar Foundation — Shambala Preserve (shambala.org), you’ll see Tippi’s film credits and meet Boo, a black leopard. No birds, though, other than the one perched on her elbow in a PR shot for the 1963 Hitchcock film The Birds.
