The ''Ally McBeal'' star faces new drug charges
Robert Downey Jr. has been arrested again. Downey, who is currently out on bail for drug charges in San Bernadino County, was taken into custody early Tuesday in the Los Angeles suburb of Culver City. Citing a police spokesman, the Associated Press reported that the actor was on foot when he was arrested and booked for investigation of being under the influence of a controlled substance. There were no details about what kind of behavior led to the actor’s arrest, and the type of suspected drug wasn’t immediately known, according to the AP.
Downey was released on bail and must appear in court May 4. A regular guest star on Fox’s ”Ally McBeal,” Downey is expected at a separate court appearance April 30, when his lawyers will ask the court to suppress evidence found in his Palm Springs hotel room last Thanksgiving. Downey was arrested then for being under the influence of a controlled substance in addition to felony possession of cocaine and Valium.
