On Roll On, its snotty sophomore disc, Aussie neo-punk trio The Living End is less smart-alecky than the Offspring, more metallic than Green Day, and as indefatigably tuneful as Blink-182. Social-consciousness songs like ”Revolution Regained” and ”Killing the Right” probably won’t convince disaffected youth to riot in the streets — giving a damn is so 1969 — but the band’s AC/DC-style rock riffs and quasi pop-metal choruses might incite a high school cafeteria food fight.
