You’ve probably seen the perky-eared sirens lip-synch “3 Small Words,” a kiss-off to a dense dude. But the tune, along with Josie and the Pussycat‘s other pop-punk fare, is actually performed by ex-Letters to Cleo singer Kay Hanley and produced by Babyface. Even if Josie & Co.’s music exists mainly to move movie tix, this is still more meaty than most of the fembot hits clogging the charts. When Hanley boasts she’s a ”brown paper magazine/Hotter than you’ve ever seen,” you feel the flames. Eden’s Crush, watch your backs.
